Belgium release their official World Cup anthem in this video featuring Kompany, Fellaini, Hazard & co.

On a personal level, for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, I will be a complete neutral with no particular preference from the 32 teams that are participating. Good football, excellent young players, tactical astuteness and entertainment is my criteria for the World Cup. It is with these factors in mind that Belgium are the side which i’m most looking forward to at the World Cup this summer.

Being considered by many as contenders for the World Cup, Belgium have a fairly easy group to navigate and a whole host of talented stars on show in the tournament. They’re a welcome change in the international football scene, and have been a revolutionising change in the lead up to the big event as well.

A few weeks back they released a video to promote their World Cup kit which, I must say, was quite a nice little touch.

They’ve gone one better now and released another video to promote their official World Cup anthem featuring the entire national team and the head coach, Marc Wilmots, as well. The song itself may not be a treat to everyone’s musical ears, and the video may seem as a drag as well. But we always love seeing our football stars away from the pitch, and this video is perfect on that front.

The song was composed by hip-hop and electro artist, Stromae, who features in the video as well.
