How well do know your team? Hull City fans know theirs better than anyone else

How Well Do You Know Your Team Football Quiz by Ladbrokes Sports

Who was Rafael Benitez’ first signing for Liverpool? How many penalties did Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier score in his career? How many players have Chelsea signed under Abramovic from fellow Premier League clubs?

Simple questions but answers to which aren’t as easy as you would have thought. Ladbrokes created a quiz a few weeks back, titled “How well do you know your team?” You can still take this quiz online, involving all of the 20 current Premier League teams with 10 questions relating to the past & present of each club. The most challenging aspect of this quiz is that the algorithm throws up random questions every time you take it with very little repetition.

Results of the quiz were unveiled earlier this week and it makes some interesting reading. Unsurprisingly, Manchester United was the most popular quiz choice with nearly 7000 people taking the quiz on the Red Devils, as they still hold a large share of the global fan base despite their poor season. West Bromwich Albion was the least popular club with only 302 fans putting their knowledge to the test, as they struggle to maintain their Premier League status.

The results of the quiz itself threw some surprising figures. Based on Ladbrokes’ data, Hull City fans know their team better than any other set of fans – with the highest percentage of quizzers getting all ten questions correct; more than any other team. They may not know the future of their club’s name, but they certainly are well informed about their beloved Tigers.

In fact, 16% of the Hull fans got all 10 of the questions spot on, quite a remarkable feat. Personally can’t say I did too well with the Hull quiz but I did learn that the KC Stadium was earlier a cricket ground, way back in 1919. Who knew!? Crystal Palace and Cardiff City fans were the next best, with 12% getting all 10 spot on while the Citizens from Manchester were well informed of their club too, 11% getting ten out of ten.

Crystal Palace supporters were generally successful with the quiz, getting an average of 7 questions right out of 10, the best placed team in the table as a result. Stoke City are well clear of the relegation zone in the Premier League but find themselves rock bottom in the Ladbrokes quiz table, the average of their quiz was an embarrassing 3. Although to be fair, it’s not common knowledge as to who Ryan Shawcross made his debut against after signing from Manchester United.

Special mention to Everton and their supporters as well, a large fraction of the quiz takers got between 8-10 questions right, better than most teams in the table. The Toffees will be hoping that their quiz performance is replicated on the field as well, as they look to pip Arsenal to 4th place.

All in all, it’s quite surprising how little you know of your club, even simple questions such as your club’s stadium capacity seem to escape one’s thoughts. As I once again encourage you take this quiz, I leave you with this fun fact – NicklasBendter has scored 32 goals for Arsenal, even reaching double figures in one season!
