Chelsea’s tweet during the 0-0 draw at home to Norwich City

This past week or two, the footballing world has widely been discussing football tactics, and what is, or isn’t the right way of playing football. Outside of the Boot doesn’t believe in a right way of playing football, neither do we believe that defensive football is “anti-football”, but rather a system within the sport that is opposed to attacking football (to put it plainly).

But we saw how Mourinho got positive results away to Atletico and Liverpool with his defensive approach, while falling short in the second leg against the Spanish side in London. Now Liverpool fans have complained all week about Chelsea’s tactics, while Atletico fans did too, to a lesser extent. Most of the complaints were largely unfounded but displayed the understandable frustration the fans felt.

Ironically, Norwich City did pretty much what Chelsea did against Atletico & Liverpool, earning a 0-0 draw and all but ending Chelsea’s slim title hopes or of finishing in the top two. This prompted Chelsea’s twitter account to send out a tweet describing the game which seemed all too familiar for complainants of Chelsea’s tactics.
