Spanish newspaper AS features our Talent Radar Young Player Awards

Yesterday we announced the winners of the first ever Talent Radar Young Player Awards for the 2013/14 season with 15 different award categories recognising the best young players (21 years old and below at the start of the season) across Europe’s top seven leagues. Atletico Madrid dominated the awards with Thibaut Courtois and Koke in particular stealing 5 individual awards between them and featuring in both #TalentRadar Team of the Season and the #TalentRadar Readers’ Team of the Season (as voted for by our readers).

Atletico Madrid’s talented midfielder, Koke, was given the most prestigious award of the 15 different categories, the Talent Radar Player of the Season after an excellent season in Simeone’s side who have impressed both domestically and in Europe. While Koke may never know he’s been bestowed with this prestigious honour (yes it is prestigious!), popular Spanish Sports newspaper, AS, gave us a pleasant surprise, dedicating a small section of their newspaper this morning to report on this award. While, unfortunately, they seem to have mixed up the site name slightly it certainly came as a surprise when one of our Twitter followers, Brian Hansen (@GreatDaneHansen on Twitter), brought this story to our notice. Who knows, Koke might actually have been made aware of this.

All in all, a successful inaugural Talent Radar Young Player Awards.
