After a breathtaking Madrid derby in the Champions League final, Real Madrid emerged victorious, winning their 10th title in Europe’s premier competition. Quite incredibly, this was Carlo Ancelotti’s third victory as manager in the competition (having won two as a player as well); he now equals Bob Paisley’s record of three European Cups.
Ancelotti’s previous two managerial triumphs in the Champions League have come with Italian side, AC Milan, having beaten Juventus in the 2003 final, followed by a victory over Liverpool in 2007. While his two triumphs as a player have also come with the Milan club.
His ex-club, AC Milan, congratulated the Italian on his third triumph with a special photo on instagram.
