Belgium national team take a World Cup selfie

The word ‘selfie’ was added to the Oxford Dictionary last year, and Merriam-Webster has followed suit this week; a testament to the popularity of the term and the act. While the Oscar selfie went completely viral a few months back, many other celebrities and sports personalities have joined in the trend, which honestly has become quite annoying and is possibly going to extinct soon, according to some experts. Personally this website isn’t a big fan of selfies, but keeping in view of this “Viral” feature, we can’t help but publish it.

With the World Cup around the corner, various national teams/players have recently uploaded selfies, most commonly on instagram. As we scanned to seek the best ones out there in the last 24 hours or so, the one that caught our attention, above all, was one posted by Eden Hazard with his Belgian national team.

11 of the 24 stars from the apparent ‘dark horses’ of the tournament were captured in the snap. Left-to-right from top: Romelu Lukaku, Marouane Fellaini, Nacer Chadli, Axel Witsel, Anthony Vanden Borre, Adnan Januzaj, Moussa Dembele, Divock Origi, Dries Mertens, Eden Hazard & Kevin De Bruyne.

Could ‘World Cup selfie’ become a thing now? Yes it can, we have proof coming up…
