Netherlands head coach, Louis Van Gaal, has announced the 23 man Netherlands FIFA World Cup squad. The 30 man squad that was earlier announced included a whole host of young stars who our feature, Talent Radar, was very excited about seeing, but obvious cuts had to be made.
Even certain experienced players lost their spots in the side. While Kevin Strootman missed out on the 30 man squad through injury, a big blow; Rafael van der Vaart made the initial cut but he too misses out with injury. PSV’s, Jeroen Zoet also misses out, while #TalentRadar youngsters – Jean Paul Boetius, Karim Rekik, Quincy Promes, Tony Vilhena also don’t make the cut. Vitesse’s on-loan star, Patrick Van Aanholt, was the other member who was cut from the initial list of 30.
The youngsters that do make the cut, which Talent Radar will keep an eye out for during the 2014 FIFA World Cup, are: Memphis Depay, Bruno Martins Indi, Jordy Clasie, Stefan de Vrij, Joel Vetlman & Terence Kongolo.
