The fans were pumped up for the World Cup opener with a packed stadium in the Sao Paulo Arena. Some familiar faces were among the crowd as well. Brazil’s 2002 World Cup winning captain, Cafu, was seated next to another Brazilian star, Kaka, who failed to make the 2014 squad. The players in the current squad though, still look up to the AC Milan man and he still is hugely popular among the supporters.
With the score tied at 1-1, Brazil were given a controversial penalty that has left Croatia furious. Lovren put his hand on Fred and as any footballer would do these days, the striker hits the ground giving Neymar the chance to put Brazil 2-1 up from the spot. And here’s when the cameras were whipped out. Instagram was getting ready to be flooded!
Kaka shared the footage of the moment Neymar put Brazil up as a huge roar of celebration engulfed the stadium. “Here the ” famous ” video when @neymarjr scored the 2nd gol !!!” read the message along with the image. It was Neymar’s second goal of the game and the first time since David Villa in 2006 that a player has scored two on his World Cup debut.
