After merely minutes on the pitch, Miroslav Klose struck the equalising goal for Germany against Ghana in their 2-2 draw. The goal, more importantly, was Klose’s 15th in the World Cup since his first which came against Saudi Arabia back in 2002 (he scored three that day). That goal now means that Klose has equaled Brazil’s Ronaldo in the all-time World Cup leading scorers chart and holds a good chance of taking over out-right.
The Brazilian Ronaldo, who has gone head-to-head with Klose back in the 2002 World Cup final, has now taken to twitter to congratulate Miroslav Klose with a clever little tweet. Whether you’re a German fan or not, the majority was/is hoping for Klose to score this World Cup. It wouldn’t be the riskiest thing to bet on the German taking over the mantle.
