Barack Obama congratulates Clint Dempsey & Tim Howard

USA’s performance at this World Cup has surpassed expectations of most American soccer fans. After Landon Donovan was excluded, their chances looked slim as the side seemed to lack any real quality. But four games later and the Sport has been taken to a whole new level, with many Americans “believing” in their side. They emerged from a difficult group and were knocked out in extra time. Despite this, expectations have been more than surpassed by Klinsmann’s side.

Clint Dempsey, Tim Howard and Jermaine Jones have arguably been their best performers at the tournament. Dempsey & Howard were pleasantly surprised when they were given a call by the US President, Barack Obama, congratulating them on their impressive run.
