Talent Radar Young Players Team of the Week #15: Antonio Sanabria, Andreas Christensen & Yassine Benzia feature

A regular feature on our website is the Talent Radar Team of the Week with the best young players compiled into an XI from across Europe’s top six leagues. You can read this for all details on Talent Radar, who is eligible under it and what else we publish within this feature.

[Eligibility: As of 1st June 2015 – 21 years old and below for outfield players // 22 years old and below for goalkeepers]

Jack Butland // 22 // Stoke City // Goalkeeper: The Englishman was a part of the Stoke City side that took on Manchester City over the weekend and came out eventual winners courtesy of a 2-0 scoreline. Have the lead against the big guns in the Premier League is never going to be easier for a team and more so for a young goalkeeper but Butland once again showcased his quality, temporarily justifying why he is one of the best young English keepers around.

Almamy Toure // 19 // Monaco // Right Back: Having been on the side lines for significant portions of this season, Almamy Toure has earned himself a run of four consecutive 90 minute games and has started to look rather good. The latest of those four games was this past weekend when Monaco faced Bastia, the ”French” side winning by a one goal margin. It’s worth pointing out that this is the second week running that Toure makes it to our Team of the Week.

Andreas Christensen // 19 // Borussia Mönchengladbach // Centre Back: After sticking with Gladbach with the lows of their season so far, Andreas Christensen was a part of the team that recently experienced one of the highlights of the season: a solid performance in a 3-1 victory of giants Bayern Munich. He’s 19, and he helped his team team just beat Bayern Munich: let that sink in.

Jose Gimenez // 20 // Atletico Madrid // Centre Back: Talent Radar veteran and still a year to go to be discounted on basis of eligibility, Gimenez should really be spoken of more. The youngster has proved time and time again that he is a solid centre back that has a huge future ahead of him. Gimenez featured in the 0-2 victory against Granada this weekend with yet another solid performance.

Adam Masina // 20 // Bologna // Left Back: Talent Radar debutant, Adam Masina features in this week’s Talent Radar Team of the Week thanks to his excellent performance against Napoli, helping his team to a 3-2 victory. The youngster has featured in every game for his club this season.

Viktor Fischer // 21 // Ajax // Right Wing:  5-2 was the scoreline at the end of the 90 minutes when Ajax took on Heerenveen a few days ago; the youngster had a significant impact on the game with his contribution constituting 2 goals and an assist.

Fabinho // 22 // Monaco // Midfield: We’re fans of defensive midfielders and consequently fans of any young defensive midfielder trying to make it out there. One such is Monaco’s Fabinho who fancied his chances and got his name on the scoresheet this weekend against Bastia to join his team mate Almamy Toure in the Team of the Week.

Jorrit Hendrix // 20 // PSV Eindhoven // Midfield: This week’s midfield pairing leaves us more than happy since it comprises of two defensive midfielders. Jorret Hendrix put the ball in the back of the net against Vitesse over the weekend to get off the mark for the season and earn himself a place in our Team of the Week.

Jario Samperio // 22 // Mainz // Left Wing: U21 international, Jario Samperio topped his performance last week by scoring two goals and an assist against Hamburg this weekend to take his tally to three goals and six assists in the league so far this season.

Yassine Benzia // 21 // Lille // Striker: Frenchman Benzia switched roles for the game against Caen from having played on the right wing last week. Coincidentally, Benzia’s shift further up the pitch resulted in him doing better than last week by scoring a brace, taking his tally to four for the season.

Antonio Sanabria // 19 // Sporting Gijon // Striker: Undoubtedly the star in our Team of the Week, Antonio Sanabria looks to have sufficiently recovered from his hamstring injury when he scored a hattrick in the home win against Las Palmas and earn his team a solid and important three points.
