Podolski scores from the narrowest of angles, absolutely hammers it in

Bayern Munich got two vital away goals at the Emirates, and Arsenal knew they needed to get some of their own. The Gunners offered nothing in the first half but took the game to their opponents in the second.

The moment Schweinsteiger gave Bayern the lead on the night, the tie looked to be over, but within three minutes Arsenal were right back in it. There were some question marks over whether Podolski fouled his ex-teammate, Lahm, just before smashing it in. Bayern certainly felt the game should have stopped, and most of their defensive line stopped play and lost their concentration. The referee allowed the game to go on and Lukas Podolski took full advantage. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough as Arsenal crashed out at the Round of 16 stage for the 4th consecutive season.
