Fernando Torres & Steven Gerrard were one of the greatest Premier League love stories of recent times until the Spaniard crossed over to London with Chelsea. The striker continues to hold Gerrard in high regard and the England captain still maintains a good relationship with his ex-teammate.

It comes as no surprise then to see Fernando Torres welcome Steven Gerrard on instagram, after the Liverpool midfielder joined the platform yesterday. The #friend mention in the message was a nice added touch to it.

“Welcome to Instagram @stevengerrard #friend” the message read. Interestingly, Torres has used the image from the Chelsea – Liverpool game immediately after his transfer, one of the most controversial moves in the Premier League.
