Germany were dealt a cruel blow when Marco Reus came off injured against Armenia in a warm-up. Tests post game showed that his ankle injury was too much and he couldn’t continue on. The World Cup dream had ended at the worst possible moment for Marco Reus.
While Germany will be able to possibly cope with the loss, it proves to be a heart-breaking moment for Reus who is in the prime of his career in a German squad that is arguably at their peak as well. To have been a part of the 20th World Cup, while at the top of your game, would be any footballers dream.
The Dortmund star is coming to terms with the loss and posted this message on Instagram, showing support to his team-mates while coping with his misfortune.
“I have to wait 4 more years, its heartbreaking for me but thats life and thats Football. All the best for my teammates, i will be their biggest supporter. Thanks all Fans. #MR11″
