Ashley Cole: “English players ‘scared’ to come abroad”


Ashley Cole spoke to the press after having completed his free transfer to AS Roma in Italy. A rare move as it’s not often that an established and high-profile English players ventures to another league to continue his trade. But Ashley Cole, having been released by Chelsea, chose Italy as his new destination. Below is an excerpt of his press conference where he states the possible reasons as to why English players don’t make transfer moves abroad, one of which he says is their fear of coming out of their comfort zone.
