The acquisition of football club’s across the map by Abu Dhabi United Group, who first came to the fore-front in the sport with their takeover of Manchester City, has not only benefited their aims of tapping into newer markets, but also presented the opportunity for collaboration between clubs.
The latest in what may become a series of similar collaborative moves, Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero took on New York City FC’s David Villa, in a blindfolded penalty shooutout challenge at City’s newly opened state of the art academy. The two prolific goal-scorers of different time periods, went head-to-head, in the first of three such challenges over the next few weeks.
