Football fans take it upon themselves to don the roles of judge, jury and executioner with the case in point being nothing but the latest developments in the wonderfully turbulent world of football. The tribal nature of club football ensures that there is no dearth of talking points. The roles of plaintiff and defendant are played by fans of opposing camps in what can be perceived as a simulation of a real court case. Only here an amicable out of court settlement is not very likely.
So while these slug-fests between the defendants and the plaintiff are common enough especially on social networking sites, there is very rarely a place for a group of people to express their opinion on the matter in question on a common forum. A panel or a group of people selected to look at the case in question and form their own conclusions on it. Sound familiar? We are thus introducing this new section called The Football Courtroom, where we hope you would participate by playing the role of a juror and examining a case.
Here we give the opportunity to all football fans to participate in this discussion forum and share your opinion on the beautiful game.
So here’s how this works:
1) We pose a question on an ongoing football topic at regular intervals.
2) Those interested can send their opinion to info[@]outsideoftheboot[.]com.
3) We’ll publish the final piece with all the opposing views, each sender being allowed to give their opinion more exposure.
4) If possible, we’ll reach a verdict on the particular topic.
Therefore, without further ado, “All Rise…”
