Barcelona got the important victory on Tuesday night against Manchester City, a detailed Tactical Analysis of which you can read here.
Man City put in a stellar performance and looked likely to earn atleast a draw until Demichelis’ poor tackle on Messi early in the second half which saw the defender sent off, and his Argentine compatriot, Messi, score his first away goal at a Premier League team’s ground. City pushed on despite the set-back as they looked to take something into the second leg, and Vincent Kompany led his side to an impressive performance against the Catalan giants, despite being down to 10 men.City seemed to attack more post the red card as Barca briefly struggled to conjure up an attack.
It was another tackle on Messi that proved to be a highlight, this one though didn’t result in any sending off, nor a foul. Instead, City’s Belgian captain impressed on-lookers with this fantastic tackle completely shutting the attacking Messi. Rarely has the Argentine been stopped like this. Enjoy!
