Hamburg absolutely mauled Dortmund at the Imtech Arena. Hamburg were on a run of seven consecutive defeats which understandably led to the sacking of boss, Bert Van Marwijk last week. In came Mirko Slomka in his place, ex-Hannover boss, whose first task was to find a way to defeat the less than impressive Borussia Dortmund.
But what followed was 90 minutes of absolute dominance as the home side defeated Jurgen Klopp’s men 3-0. It should have, however, been far far worse for the Borussia Dortmund.
Early in the second half Pierre Emerick Aubameyang leaped to challenge a ball against Tolgay Arslan, the result as you can see below, was horrible. To every one’s surprise, the striker received just a yellow card. Not to worry though, as Hamburg scored 3 minutes later and followed that up with a third – that being a 4o-yard 90th minute free kick by Hakan Calhanoglu.
