Marc-Andre ter Stegen has long been considered one of the best young keepers in World football, enough to entice Catalan giants Barcelona as well. The youngster is expected to make a switch to the La Liga in the coming summer. To be first choice at a European giant while only 21 is nothing short of remarkable.
And while Gladbach chase European football again, ter Stegen has been his impressive self. However, on Saturday, Gladbach took on relegation threatened Braunschweig and had a disappointing 1-1 result. After Rafael gave Gladbach a first half lead, Braunschweig were back in the game early in the second half. The scorer, was Gladbach’s reliable keeper who had a rare mistake, a calamitous one that proved all too costly for the youngster in the Bundesliga.
The surprising part about this is that ter Stegen has made the exact same error while playing for Germany in a game against USA. No one’s perfect eh?
