Aaron Hunt’s ‘panenka’ style free-kick for Bremen vs Stuttgart

The panenka penalty is a thing of beauty, done by one with extreme confidence and a good balance of cockyness. The newly tested panenka-style free-kick, is at another level. Few weeks back we saw Nicolas Gaitan perform and score from one in the Europa League.

The latest man to attempt this brilliant free-kick was Werder Bremen’s Aaron Hunt. The free-kick was worked to perfection, with Hunt’s team-mate placed in the wall, who ducks at the crucial moment to allow the ball to fly through. The keeper is left flat-footed as Hunt pulled his team level, just over 10 minutes from time. This is just beautiful.
