The inaugural UEFA Youth League ended yesterday as Barcelona’s young stars overcame Benfica in the final in Switzerland, with an emphatic 3-0 victory. Munir El Haddadi who has Spanish & Moroccan origins, finished as the top scorer of the tournament with 11 goals, with the next highest being shared between 3 players who had 6 goals each.
With the game at 2-0 and just 3 minutes left, Munir El Haddadi decided to end the tournament with something special. Seeing the Benfica keeper out of his line, he made an audacious attempt from his own half, and smashing in the most memorable goal of the tournament.
Interesting to note that the 18-yr-old also had the highest assists in the tournament. He’s certainly one to watch for and is bound to feature in our #TalentRadar pieces in the future.
