Many have claimed that Manchester City won the Premier League solely because of their financial position. Certainly this has had a hugely positive effect, but it has to be said, that the club should be given credit for the steps they are taking on AND off the field as a result of their financial position.
While they’ve invested well in infrastructural developments, youth academies and their own in-house data analysis program, they’ve also taken fantastic steps in the Social Media field. The club are known to have one of the best Social Media teams & strategies across the web for a football club.
Their latest piece of work is a neat infographic showing exactly how they won their second Premier League title in three years, consisting of important stats & graphs. The infographic was created by Danny Lennon (follow him on Twitter @danny_motion).
It’s fantastic that the club’s Social Media team is creating content that everyday supporters would, and thus doing a brilliant job of keeping them engaged. A benchmark for the rest to follow both on the pitch as Premier League champions, and off-the-field as the Social Media trendsetter.
