Coach Joachim Low announced the German World Cup squad, omitting three more players with 23 set to go to Brazil. Of the three that were omitted, two Talent Radar youngsters were also left disappointed. Both Hoffenheim’s Kevin Volland and Sampdoria’s Shkodran Mustafi didn’t make the squad, alongwith Borussia Dortmund’s Marcel Schmelzer.
Schmelzer’s fellow Dortmund left-back, 22-yr-old Erik Durm did make the squad, which does please Talent Radar. Schalke’s Julian Draxler is in the squad as well alongwith Bayern’s Mario Gotze and Freiburg’s Matthias Ginter. Of the four Talent Radar youngsters that are heading to Brazil, Mario Gotze is expected to play the most significant role.
