The only debutants of the 2014 FIFA World Cup are European side, Bosnia, with a lot of hopes and possible expectations as many tip them to perform admirably in Brazil. Argentina remain their toughest opponents, with Iran & Nigeria seeming like winnable games. The Bosnian national team is in Rio de Janeiro where their first ever World Cup game takes place, against the Argentines.
Bosnia’s more experienced duo of Miralem Pjanic & Vedad Ibisevic met with one of the best strikers in World football of recent times, France & Juve’s David Trezeguet. The man who last played in Argentina’s domestic league, does have a wealth of footballing experience having played in three World Cups, winning it in 1998, disappointing in 2002 and finishing runner-up in 2006 with his penalty being the only one missed in the shoot-out at the final. Nevertheless, a player like Ibisevic can certainly take some pointers from the striker.
“Con il grande Trezeguet a Rio” (with the great Trezeguet in Rio) read the message.
