Spurs’ summer transfer window has been a stark contrast to that of last year. New manager Pochettino certainly has a squad which is well equipped in a number of positions which means there certainly won’t be an upheaval of last season’s proportions. However, the left-back spot was definitely one that needed bolstering and in the form of Ben Davies, Spurs have made an astute signing.
Left-backs seem to be at a premium in this window and Spurs have done well to snap up a promising young player in Ben Davies from Swansea. The youngster was first drafted in the squad by Michael Laudrup as a result of Neil Taylor’s injury and the 21 year-old hasn’t looked back since. The youngster has not only usurped Taylor at the club level but has also leapfrogged him in the pecking order for the Welsh side.

In Ben Davies, Spurs have signed a left-back who ticks a lot of the required boxes.
