We aren’t looking to engage in banter of any sorts here, just that Adidas’ marketing team (or the team that handles their YouTube to be more specific) need to get their timing a bit better.
Now I understand that the video you are going to see below was shot weeks back and was meant to be published today (the day the Champions League kicks off), but probably it would have been better if they were advised not to go through with releasing this particular one.
It shows Daley Blind (then of Ajax) and his team-mate Jasper Cillessen watching the Champions League draw as they await the fate of the Dutch champions. As we know now, Blind won’t play any part in the competition following his move to Manchester United, and I don’t think he’s really complaining, but rival supporters are bound to see this with a grin on their face,
It shows Blind discussing playing in the Champions League, about how they will have to handle Barcelona even going on to give his verdict for the group at a time when he thought he would be facing them.
A bit of a schoolboy error from Adidas here, an outdated video bound to spout banter isn’t the best PR move, is it?
