With mention of the Barcelona side that has dominated Europe in recent memory, obvious names like Iniesta, Xavi and Messi are instantly brought up. True, much of the Catalans’ success has been accredited to those three, but there are some players who’s names aren’t mentioned, some players are incredibly vital to the team. One such player is Sergio Busquets. His theatrics aside, Busquets is an immense part of the Barcelona side that has swept aside teams with ease. While light has been thrown plenty of times in the past with respect to his defensive role in the team, Busquets plays a rather well thought out role when Barcelona have the ball in the final third. This video by Krzysztof Sierocki studies Busquets’ duties when Barcelona are on the offensive and the importance of this role in the overall sense.
