Bengaluru FC ended their home campaign with a 1-1 draw with fellow title-chasers, Pune FC. It was a good open game of football, showing how Indian football has been evolving, with both sides leading the way on and off the field.
Thoi Singh gave the home side the lead in the first half after Pune had the better of the opening minutes. Bengaluru controlled the game in the second half but Pune FC were getting back into the game through Gabriel Fernandes down the right wing. The man on-loan from Pune created his sides equaliser with a superb cross for Anthony DeSouza to head in. Pune then had another good chance but 21-year-old keeper Soiram Poirei pulled off an incredible double save to keep Pune at bay.
The final score of Bengaluru FC 1-1 Pune FC was a fair result. Gabriel Fernandes received the man of the match, deservedly, which the Bengaluru fans were quick to applaud as well. But the true winners were the Bengaluru fans who were quite superb throughout the game, and the season as well. Even Pune’s head coach, Mike Snoei, was in awe of the fans, applauding the home support.
Enjoy the highlights, two good crosses leading to two goals.
