Photo/Video sharing platform, Instagram, has become quite popular among footballers and offers supporters a nice little insight into their lives. It is particular interesting to follow their lives during World Cup preparations, and hopefully while the tournament commences.
England captain, Steven Gerrard, is the latest player to catch on, joining a whole host of England stars. As the idea of using social media is becoming increasingly popular with every passing day, it appears that every footballer wants to have the opportunity to showcase their lives to their fans, as well as interacting with them on a daily basis, and Steven Gerrard is no different. However, there is a difference between them and us. They already have fans, so them joining social media sites like Instagram will mean that they will have thousands of followers in a matter of seconds, whereas others may be required to check out somewhere like thesmallbusinessblog.net to see which growth services will help them when it comes to expanding their followers and reach. There is no shame in that, of course, as everyone wants to have as many followers as possible. With Steven Gerrard recently joining the craze though, how many of you will be clicking that follow button the next time you’re on social media?
The timing does seem quite surprising as you’d think he’d be more bothered about England duty rather than Social Media. Just makes you wonder what the England players are doing in Miami. We saw what Sturridge, Wilshere, Chamberlain & Sterling were up to, for England’s sake we can only hope their captain is more focused.
Steven Gerrard’s first post included a picture with Daniel Sturridge and new Liverpool team-mate, Rickie Lambert. He congratulated the ex-Southampton man and also wished Liverpool Football a happy 122nd anniversary.
PS – This seems to be another selfie, the captain is clearly influenced by Sturridge.
Hello to everyone from Miami, my first official Instagram post. Nice to share it with fellow Reds@dstudge and Rickie Lambert, I’m delighted he’ll be with us next season. Also happy 122nd birthday to LFC!
