Teenage sensation, Ryan Gauld, is one of the best young products to come through from the Scottish league. The Dundee United star has been attracting a lot of attention from top English clubs, but it’s Portuguese side Sporting CP that have emerged victorious in that battle. Ryan Gauld was named in our Talent Radar list of 100 Best Young Players to Watch out for in 2014, coming in at #27 in our list of midfielders.
Sporting CP are back in the Champions League after a disappointing 2012-13 campaign, and are known as one of the best clubs for young players to progress with a World class academy. The Mirror is reporting the fee to be in the region of £3 million.
A statement from Dundeed United on their official website confirmed the move:
Subject to the usual formalities, Dundee United confirm the transfer of Ryan Gauld to Sporting Lisbon, for an undisclosed fee, was completed last night. Everyone at the Club wishes Ryan sincere best wishes in his future career.
Talent Radar will continue to track the progress of Ryan Gauld, and hopefully we get to see him in a game or two in European competition as well.
