The 20-yr-old had a remarkable season scoring 11 goals across all competitions, including some absolute stunners; none more so than his 40 yard free-kick against Borussia Dortmund. His exploits earned him a lot of admirers, with a move eventually materialising. The midfielder has completed a move to another Bundesliga side, Bayer Leverkusen.
Calhanoglu told the club’s official website: “I’m very happy the transfer has gone through. Bayer 04 were keen to sign me and my aim from the start was to come here. Leverkusen are a great team.”
Calhanoglu has been given the #10 shirt at the club, signalling the importance they’ve placed on the young talent. Talent Radar will continue to track his progress.
