As the World Cup draws to a close, we at Outside of the Boot are looking for your opinion on who the best players have been in what has turned out to be one of the greatest World Cups in recent memory. We have carefully selected the best players across all positions and put them up for nomination, you are required to select one player in each position. The final formation for this World Cup XI will be decided based on the voting results (Eg: if three players under the “attacking midfielders/wingers category get 25% votes and above while in the “forward” category one gets 40% and the next gets 15%, we’ll have three players from the former category and one from the latter, thus making it a 4-2-3-1). In addition to this, we will also list seven substitutes based on the votes gathered, equally divided across all thirds of the pitch. Voting closes after the World Cup final.
