Namaste LaLiga! LaLiga inaugurates its office in Delhi


In a piece of exciting news for fans of the best football league in the world, LaLiga has launched its Indian office, set up in Delhi. 


In an event on the 15th of September at the ITC Maurya in Delhi, LaLiga President Javier Tebas took the historic step of inaugurating the first LaLiga office in India a Delhi, launching a new era of expansion for the best football league in the world.

The President of LaLiga was joined by the MD, Vicente Casado, and the ambassador of LaLiga, the legendary Fernando Morientes. The chief aim of the office in Delhi is to expand LaLiga’s presence in India, a country with a large population, and an ever growing football consciousness.

Partnering them, are two established powerhouses in Indian sport- India OnTrack and SONY ESPN. These two familiar names will enable LaLiga to get to its goal and undoubtedly bring Indian football enthusiasts closer to the beautiful game.

Importantly, Tebas also spoke about how LaLiga wants to contribute to Indian football, expressing LaLiga’s goal to help train coaches and contribute at the grassroots level, the most important sector in football.

Of course, the excitement is mutual, as you can see here, from the warm welcome LaLiga received. Indian football fans are no strangers to LaLiga, being as it is, the best football league in the world. Most followers of football enjoy watching the brand of football on show in the league, and closely follow the coverage on Sony ESPN to keep themselves updated.

The party didn’t stop there, as several guests also decided to join in to express their joy. Tennis legend and well known football enthusiast, Rafael Nadal was in attendance as well, along with the rest of the Spanish Davis Cup team who happened to be in Delhi. The Spanish ambassador to India, Magdalena Cruz was also present.

As a neutral observer, one has to say that this is a great step and initiative from LaLiga, and it truly reflects Indian football’s growing status in the international game. The fact that LaLiga will also lend its expertise in a field where it is much needed, only makes the deal sweeter for football fans in the country.
