Mario Balotelli posts picture of himself as Christ the Redeemer

The statue of Christ the Redeemer is one of the most iconic statues in the World, and certainly in Brazil. Built in 1931, the statue shows Jesus Christ over-looking the city of Rio de Janeiro. It is one of the largest statues in the World.

Italian striker Mario Balotelli has now posted an image on instagram, looking ahead to the World Cup with a depiction of himself, as, well Jesus Christ. The AC Milan striker is expected to play a key role for the Italians, and this picture probably carried that message. Or, Balotelli was just being Balotelli. Last week he posted a series of meaningless videos and that trend seems to be continuing now as well. It remains to be seen how the striker performs at the World Cup, his confidence (over-confidence?) is right up there though.
