Luke Shaw responds to Mirror’s pointless article criticising him

It’s still pretty doom and gloom competitively for Manchester United, as it was last season. The supporters aren’t happy with the board and direction the club is heading, management probably aren’t pleased with the lack of transfer activity, the first on-field result proved to be another disaster, while those they are competing with for a top four spot, all won their games (or drew). There are problems at Manchester United, but this certainly isn’t one.

The Mirror ran an article showing pictures of Luke Shaw enjoying a little night-out with some family and friends. They ran the headline for it, quite sensationally, “Luke Shaw spotted out with mates hours after Manchester United’s opening day defeat to Swansea” suggesting that the new United signing should have been more ‘disappointed’ (I guess) at United’s loss. It certainly was a quite pointless article because, well, there is no reason a footballer is required to stay indoors if his team have lost a game. Surely, surely he is allowed to go out for a bite or two? And this is exactly what he thought as well.
